Started rowing when in 6th form and sculled at Derwent rowing club in Derby. In cambridge went into the second four, then the first eight, then the second eight. In the second year became LBC, sculled, rowed on both sides and coxed. In Lent won blades at bow in the first eight, and then switched to stroke for the Mays 3rd boat.
